What is NEMADRY®?

NEMADRY® desiccant packs are non-dusting, tear-resistant moisture absorbers specially manufactured with nonwoven packaging and composed of high-quality materials. Formed through the processing of NEMADRY® silicon dioxide (SiO₂) into cream/crystal-white beads, they feature an open nano-porous structure with an average particle size of 2.1–2.7 mm and a surface area of approximately 800 m²/g. Thanks to this open nano-porous structure, NEMADRY® can adsorb water molecules (moisture) for up to 90 days—up to 40% of its own weight and 300% of its volume. Its moisture adsorption capacity meets DIN 55473 and MIL-D-3464E standards.

NEMADRY® effectively absorbs moisture within product packaging to prevent the harmful effects of humidity, corrosion, mold, and degradation during storage and transportation. It protects both the area and the product from moisture and corrosion damage, ensuring long-term safety.

Designed as a simple, reliable, and cost-effective moisture control solution, NEMADRY® provides a dry environment for export goods and other enclosed spaces, preventing moisture-related deterioration. Once placed in an enclosed area, NEMADRY® efficiently adsorbs moisture, helping to prevent the formation of condensation, corrosion, mold, and dampness.

How Does NEMADRY® Work?

After being removed from its airtight vacuum-sealed PE packaging, NEMADRY® becomes active. Once placed in an enclosed area, it immediately begins absorbing ambient moisture as humidity levels rise. It reduces temperature fluctuations, maintaining a safe and dry environment.

Thanks to its silicon dioxide and processed synthetic zeolite composition, enriched with natural mineral layers, it attracts and traps water molecules within its large internal surface area. This ensures that your products remain protected throughout storage and transportation, depending on the amount of desiccant used, against humidity, corrosion, mold, and odor damage.

Material Technology and Safety

NEMADRY® complies with international RoHS DIRECTIVE 2015/863/EU, European DIN 55473-B, and U.S. MIL-D-3464E quality standards.

It effectively combats harmful effects such as corrosion, mold, and deterioration by adsorbing moisture inside the product packaging. The desiccant substance consists of processed zeolite and natural minerals, which are safe, environmentally friendly, and easy to dispose of. Its cost-effectiveness also makes NEMADRY® a preferred choice for product protection.

Usage and Storage Conditions

Once removed from its airtight vacuum-sealed PE packaging, NEMADRY® packets begin to absorb ambient moisture immediately. For maximum effectiveness, they should be placed securely within the protection area containing the products within 2 hours.

The shelf life of the desiccant packets is 12 months from the date of manufacture, provided they remain sealed in their original barrier packaging. For proper storage, desiccant packets should be kept in protective barrier film under suitable conditions.
