What is an Oxygen Absorber?

OXYNEMA® is an effective oxygen absorber solution developed to extend the shelf life of packaged foods and prevent quality losses. Its active ingredient is a chemical compound based on powdered iron oxide. By eliminating oxygen inside the package, it provides strong protection against food spoilage, mold growth, discoloration, nutritional degradation, and insect infestation.

Without the need for food additives or preservatives, OXYNEMA® ensures oxygen levels remain below 0.01%, maintaining product freshness and quality.

Why Use It?

Oxygen is the primary cause of spoilage in food and pharmaceutical products. Even small amounts of residual oxygen inside packaging can negatively impact product quality. With its active packaging technology, OXYNEMA® reduces oxygen levels inside the package to less than 0.01%.

Furthermore, it eliminates the need for harmful additives such as BHA, BHT, sulfur dioxide, sorbates, and benzoates, which are known to pose health risks.

How Does It Work?

When placed inside the package, OXYNEMA® oxygen absorbers activate immediately, rapidly removing oxygen and carbon dioxide from the environment. This prevents undesirable effects such as mold, bacterial growth, fat rancidity, and oxidative degradation.

How to Use?

After being removed from its airtight vacuum-sealed PE packaging, OXYNEMA® immediately begins oxygen absorption. To ensure effectiveness, quickly and properly place the required number of sachets into the product’s package, jar, or plastic container, then seal the package airtight.

Any remaining oxygen absorbers should also be promptly resealed in an airtight container for later use.

• Pet foods: all dry pet foods

• Nuts & seeds: almonds, hazelnuts, peanuts, sesame, black cumin, sunflower seeds, coconut, etc.

• Sugars: white sugar, brown sugar

• Dairy products: hard cheeses (cheddar, parmesan, kashkaval)

• Dried fruits & vegetables: figs, apricots, raisins, dates, freeze-dried or sun-dried produce

• Olives: dry-cured varieties (Gemlik, sele olives, etc.)

• Spices & herbs: thyme, basil, mint, black pepper, chili flakes, etc.

• Flours & powders: wheat flour, rice flour, corn flour, chestnut flour, chickpea flour, carob flour, etc.

• Breakfast & diet products: cereals, muesli, oats, rye-based snacks

• Snack foods: chips, crackers, biscuits, cookies
